Who is Buttery Awesome?

Matt Brown

Well… it would be easy for me to say “Why… YOU are, of course!” and call it a day.

In truth though, Buttery Awesome is really just me, Matt Brown. I was a technical director, design director and creative director in the “triple A” gaming industry for over three decades, and I was incredibly lucky to be involved with the creation of games in many of my favorite franchises and to have worked with some of the most talented people in the industry.

At the moment, I’m embarking on a new adventure as a naive, bright-eyed one-person independent developer… a “solo indie dev” if you will.

Currently, I’m working on a large personal project that’s probably 12–18 months from an early-access release. My plan is to share progress, design thoughts, discoveries and abject failures across social media for anyone curious, even if that ends up largely being my cat.

She gets me.

I’ll also be posting prototypes and design thinking from throughout my career as well as random distractions and toys. Be sure to check out the socials and the various sections on this site for more detail and ramblings.
